  • What is the actual grammatical rule for the use of good and well? I have a general understanding but my kids really would like the rule in “black and white.”

  • Well question. I mean good question. Good is an adjective as in good dog; never an adverb. Well can be either, but it is an adjective only when it refers to state of health.
