7:00 P.M (14 years old and up)

Performance Dates
Public Performances – June 6th, 7th, 13th, 14th, 15th at 7:30

June 8th, 9th, 15th, 16th at 2:00

Audition Info
Auditioners must be at least 5 years old as of June 7th, 2024

Arrive at least 15 minutes early to sign in. PLEASE complete the digital paperwork linked below before the night of the Auditions.

LATECOMERS ARE NOT GUARANTEED A CHANCE TO AUDITION!

All ethnicities and gender identities are welcomed and encouraged at GCT.

All audition materials will be provided, and NO acting experience is required.

***Familiarizing yourself with the story, its characters, and the music is always suggested and encouraged (YouTube is a great source).

Auditionees will be asked to dance and sing a short selection from the show. Some will be asked to read from the script and sing additional music from the show as needed.

The folder linked below has the music you need to prepare for the audition. Please select 1 of the audition songs to perform. The production team may ask you to sing more. Familiarize yourself with the sides but not everyone will be asked to read.

Please be prepared to provide ALL scheduling conflicts and availability from April 2nd – June 16th

AUNT EM: DOROTHY’S AUNT AND GUARDIAN.SHE IS A FARMER’S WIFE, CONCERNED WITH THE DAILY TASKS OF RUNNING THE FARM. WARM AND CARING, BUT NO-NONSENSE. THIS IS A NON-SINGING ROLE.

GLINDA:THE GOOD WITCH OF THE NORTH. A CARING AND PROTECTIVE FAIRY GODMOTHER TYPE. GRACEFUL, OPTIMISTIC AND CHEERFUL.THINK OF HER AS THE KINDEST AND DEAREST KINDERGARTEN TEACHER EVER.

UNCLE HENRY:DOROTHY’S UNCLE. A TASKMASTER, BUT KIND, FAIR, AND LOVING. AN HONEST MAN. HE IS PROUD, WITH A WRY SENSE OF HUMOR. THIS IS A NON-SINGING ROLE.

OZ GUARD:DOROTHY’S TOUR GUIDE THROUGH OZ AND THE WIZARD’S OFFICIAL GUARD. INITIALLY PUT-UPON AND TOUGH,BECOMES EXUBERANT AND WELCOMING.

THE SCARECROW: DOROTHY’S FIRST FRIEND IN OZ. A VAUDEVILLE-ESQUE CHARACTER COMIC. SILLY, BUT LOYAL AND CARING. SEEKS A BRAIN, BUT ALREADY SMART AND INQUISITIVE. CREATIVE PHYSICALITY AND STRONG MOVEMENT IS A MUST. ANY TUMBLING IS A PLUS, BUT NOT REQUIRED.

THE TIN MAN:DOROTHY’S SECOND FRIEND IN OZ. A CROONER AND A HOPELESS ROMANTIC. KIND, WITH A LYRICAL QUALITY. POLITE AND GENTLEMANLY, HE SEEKS A HEART, BUT IS ALREADY A TENDER SPIRIT. Tap skills IS A PLUS, BUT NOT REQUIRED.

THE COWARDLY LION: DOROTHY’S THIRD FRIEND IN OZ. AN ENDEARING ANIMAL WITH IMAGE AND SELF-ESTEEM ISSUES. HE IS A COMIC AND A SCAREDY CAT. HE PUTS ON A MASCULINE FRONT, BUT IS A LOVER, NOT A FIGHTER. HE SEEKS COURAGE, BUT HE ALREADY STANDS UP FOR HIS FRIENDS AND FACES HIS FEARS.

THE WICKED WITCH : VENGEFUL, MEAN, AND GREEN. SHE IS ANGRY AND RUTHLESS IN HER ATTEMPT TO HURT DOROTHY AND STEAL BACK THE RUBY SLIPPERS.THIS IS A NON-SINGING ROLE.

THE WIZARD: A REGULAR PERSON BEHIND A BIG CHARADE. EDUCATED, RESOURCEFUL, AND QUICK-WITTED, HE IS A VERY GOOD MAN, BUT A VERY BAD WIZARD. THIS IS A NON-SINGING ROLE
