Greenwood Film Society: Secret Agent
February 20 @ 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Dear Friend of the Greenwood Film Society,
Thanks for those of you who braved the cold and came out to watch My Man Godfrey last night. A very interesting film – an strange mix of black/slapstick comedy/proto Film Noir/critique of the capitalist class. You should check it out if you haven’t seen it yet. Thanks again to Royleen for suggesting it.
Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, February 20, as usual, upstairs at Good Times Brewing (right next to Millhouse Pizza on Maxwell Ave.). Admission is free; all are welcome.
We will be watching Secret Agent (1936; 83 minutes). It is directed by Alfred Hitchcock, and stars John Gielgud and Madeleine Carroll. Thanks to Debra Coleman for suggesting this film
Please join us for conversation at 6:30; the film will start at 7:00.
I hope to see you there.
Dan
p.s. If anyone has a recommendation for a short film to watch prior to the main feature, please let me know.
