Big News: New World Record To Be Set Today In Greenwood
Cameron Dorn, Lander Alum, employed by Fuji International, will be attempting to break the world record for burpees, known as the world’s most strenuous exercise.
Dorn will be at the Sweatbox located behind Sports Break to attempt to complete 10,000 burpees in 24 hours. If successful he will become the only South Carolinian to hold a world record in athletics. Along with breaking the world record, Dorn is raising $10,000 for children in two schools: one in Ware Shoals and one in Peru. Greenwood Calendar organized a free concert and will be recording the Burpee Challege for Guinness World Records.
In addition GreenwoodCalendar.com will be streaming the event live on its Burpee Cam for 24 hours.
The concert located on the grounds of Fin-n-Filet will feature Greenwood musicians Ashby Stokes, Keller Ridgeway, Will Thompson, and Laura Beth Brooks. The music starts Friday at 4 pm. Rick Patton of Fin-n-Filet will donate 10 percent of the evening’s proceeds to Dorn’s fundraiser.
