About Us

Hello fellow Greenwoodians (and friends of Greenwood)

Welcome to Greenwood Calendar!!!

I started this site in 2013 to bring together all the wonderful events, exhibits, concerts, plays, and festivals happening in and around Greenwood.

A phrase occasionally heard around town is, “I wish I would have known about that.” As Greenwood continues to offer an increasing amount of “Things To Do,” the need for a centralized website became clear.

So a major aspect of Greenwood Calendar is our interactive calendar, of which over 100 people contribute.

Greenwood Calendar also seeks to spotlight what’s great about Greenwood primarily through our videos. The videos, which we produce, are often part of a series such as “A Minute With The Mayor” and “Shelter Scoop,” and we also originate many stand alone videos. To date, we’ve produced over 1,000 local videos.

Additionally, we run press releases from news sources such as the Greenwood Police Department, Fire Department, City of Greenwood, Greenwood County, DNR, Chamber of Commerce, Greenwood Partnership Alliance, District 50, and many others.

We share news that is submitted to us after we confirm its authenticity. We also occasionally share news and links from other media sources.

Greenwood Calendar has enjoyed your support, and we won’t take that for granted. Like Greenwood, we’re growing stronger every day… Take advantage of all that Greenwood Calendar has to offer by subscribing by email, friending us on Facebook, and following us on Twitter.

And since this is your Greenwood Events site, please submit often. Simply select “Submit Event” from the top of the home page. You will have to register the first time you submit. Then upload the information to the submit form. Be sure to add a photo. Select the proper category: concert, event, exhibit, play, or festival.

  • Hello Robert,
We are hosting an exciting event the week of May 5-11th, an LPGA tournament event referred to as the Symetra Tour…officially named Self Regional Healthcare Foundation Women’s Charity Classic (Women’s Charity Classic for short). It will be such a huge benefit to not only Greenwood, but the Lakeland’s area as well. In addition to the golf events, there will be many others that take place in uptown as well.
I wonder if you would like to meet to discuss how best to sponsor or promote this event and how we can work with you on some advertising opportunities.
Please e-mail or call me at your convenience.
    Thank you,
    Denise Medford
