Uptown Live returns with The Swingin’ Medallions
Thursday, September 1 at 5:30 p.m.

GREENWOOD, SC – Countybank Plaza in Uptown Greenwood will be jam packed as Greenwood’s own Swingin’ Medallions takes the stage to kick off the Fall Uptown Live concert series.

Greenwood is home to South Carolina’s own “Party Band of the South”, The Swingin’ Medallions (https://www.facebook.com/Swingin-medallions_double_shotMedallions-136244489773116). Join the party as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Medallions mega hit 1966 release Double Shot (of My Baby’s Love). The song became a Top 20 hit for the group, peaking at #17 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Double Shot, a short clip of original Swingin Medallion members Carroll Bledsoe (trumpet), Jimmy Perkins (bass guitar), and Larry Roark (keyboard) was produced and can be viewed at https://www.facebook.com/uptowngreenwood.

Featured vendors includes Montague’s Restaurant, 3D Concessions, Palmetto Peanuts, and Howard’s on Main. This concert is brought to you by Index Journal, Ballentine Ford/Toyota. Concert series sponsors include City of Greenwood, Greenwood CPW, Boggero’s, and Northland Cable.
