St. Patrick’s Day Gem

Congratulations to the painter and finder on today’s Greenwood Rocks gem of the day.

What is Greenwood Rocks

#GreenwoodRocks is sponsored by Greenwood Calendar.

This group is for people to come together, and have some fun. This activity is great for all ages.

Get some rocks, paint them, add “Join #Greenwood Rocks” on the back”, seal the rock, go out and hide it. (Importantly, Greenwood Rocks covers ALL of Greenwood County) with a few exceptions. (See File: Areas Off Limits in Greenwood County)

PAINT: We use Acrylic paint, or we enjoy using POSCA paint pens which can be found on Amazon. Any outdoor sealer will work, they can be found at Walmart or Hobby Lobby.

LABEL: Please add at least “Greenwood Rocks” on the back. You can also add Join #GreenwoodRocks on Facebook or any version you want to put, as long as it says Greenwood Rocks! Then SEAL the back of the rock too! Do this so nonmembers know what your rock is about. And so you also know it’s okay to take and rehide.

HINTS: Hints are wonderful for people to go out searching for rocks, you can make them easy, you can make them hard. That is entirely up to you. You can even skip posting a hint. It’s fun finding a random rock never knowing it was there.

WHAT SHOULD I DO WHEN I FIND A PAINTED ROCK? You found a rock? That’s great! Take a picture of the rock, and post it as found on the main wall, please include where you found the rock! You can keep it or rehide it! The choice is yours, but please participate so the group can keep going and add some of your own! Please do not take all the rocks and keep all the rocks you find. If you want to keep one or two, that’s great!!!! If you plan to keep several then please replace what you are keeping.

ADD YOUR FRIENDS! You should add your friends to the group! The more people the more fun, the more that participate the more rocks will be out there!

WHERE CAN I HIDE MY ROCKS? Anywhere in Greenwood County! Please respect private property, hide in only public places and be alert of your surroundings so that no one gets hurt! Do not hide inside of topiaries, near railroad tracks, Connie Maxwell Children’s Home or at the Greenwood Animal Shelter.

WHERE CAN I GET ROCKS? Landscape Supply, Lowes, Rush Hobby and Garden …

PROBLEMS OR CONCERNS? If you cause conflict in the group or you don’t follow the rules, you will be removed from the group.

We have simple rules in place so everyone can have fun. If you see a problem message me. Do not post it in comments or on the main wall. Blocking an admin is an automatic removal from the group. Disrespecting another member in the group is an automatic removal from the group. There should be no negativity in the group.

This should go without saying….

DO NOT TAKE rocks from the train tracks. That is PRIVATE property, and you will be subject to a fine and jail time if you are caught. YOU are responsible for your own actions, we are not responsible for the choices you make.

DO NOT post other groups on our wall. Our wall should consist of our members painted rocks, hiding clues, and finds.

Also, no soliciting. This group is not the place to drive traffic to your business.
