Sheriff Kelly Update: Major Drug Bust

Thursday May 5, 2022 a joint operation with Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office, DEU, CID, CRU, K-9 and Greenwood Police Department CSU team concluded a nearly 8 month long investigation with a search warrant at 2508 Ridge Rd in Hodges, SC. During the search warrant nearly 8 pounds of methamphetamine, 242 grams of cocaine, 11 grams of heroin, approximately 1300 pressed fentanyl pills, 621 grams of marijuana, 7 firearms, and a large sum of U.S Currency were seized. (See picture below).
Along with the drugs Deputies were able to recover 2 stolen vehicles, 1 stolen trailer, and seized an additional vehicle on the property.
This investigation was a textbook case of working together and sharing information through divisions internally and with outside agencies. What began with our CRU team identifying the property as a significant drug trafficking hub continued to work its way up to the results you see today. Ultimately helping return stolen property to the victims, taking firearms out of the hands of these dangerous individuals, and saving many more lives with the seizure of these drugs that continue to take lives daily across the country. We continue to work together to combat the drugs in our community and applaud all of those who helped in this operation.
