Publix and Lakeview Elementary School: a great partnership in learning.

Publix hosted Lakeview Elementary School Math and Science Night.  The families of Lakeview enjoyed practicing math and science skills learned in the classroom.

The students will experience how math/science connects to the real world. Families will search the aisles for answers to Math/Science questions and apply their math skills on an activity handout. They will be focusing on real life skills by finding and comparing costs, sizes and how their groceries or checked out.  Children are encouraged to visit Publix with their family and work through grade appropriate math/science problems. After working their way through the store children can turn in their papers and receive a homework pass and a cookie.

It is such fun seeing families work through the problems by practicing skills learned in class.

A huge thank you to Publix   and Mr. Alex Freer for hosting  an evening that  provides a family-friendly atmosphere for parents and children to enjoy math and science outside of the traditional classroom,” Mr. Freer made the event a success by providing a welcoming environment for our Families to learn.
