Petunia at The Arts Center by Keith Jameson

Petunia at The Arts Center by Keith Jameson

There will be a FREE performance of the children’s opera PETUNIA, by Greenwood’s own Keith Jameson, presented by FBN Productions’ Opera for Kids! from Columbia, SC, on Saturday, March 28th at 11:00am at the Arts Center at the Federal Building. The opera is based on the children’s book by Roger Duvoisin. The performance will last about 45 minutes.
Petunia is the story of Petunia, the silly goose. She finds a book in the meadow of her barnyard, and begins to give out bad advice to the other animals. Only after a terrible accident, does she realize that instead of just owning a book, she must read what’s inside to gain wisdom.

FBN Productions has presented three other children’s operas in Greenwood: The Three Little Pigs, Pinocchio, and Jack and the Beanstalk. This will be the first performance of Petunia in the Lakelands area. The children’s opera PETUNIA was written by Keith Jameson, a native of Greenwood, and opera singer at The Metropolitan Opera, LA Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, The Santa Fe Opera, and many others.

This performance is sponsored by Keith Jameson and the Arts Center.
