Old Town Fire Station Groundbreaking
Saluda County, South Carolina – The Saluda County Fire Service is excited to announce the construction of a new fire station. The new station will replace the current station in the Old Town community, which is more than forty years old. The public is invited to celebrate the beginning of the construction process during a groundbreaking ceremony to be held on Friday, November 4th, 2022 at 4:00 PM next door to the current Old Town Station, located at 1409 Newberry Hwy, Saluda.
The new fire station will be the first station in Saluda County to be funded by the Saluda County Council. “We are proud to be able to provide this vital facility in the Old Town Community” said Saluda County Council Chairman Jim Moore. “This new station will honor the history of extraordinary service by the volunteers of the Old Town Fire Department, while also showing our commitment to providing enhanced services as our county continues to grow.” It is anticipated that the new station will open in the summer of 2023.
