Intersession Camps

Greenwood County announced today that its Parks and Recreation department will be partnering with the Greenwood YMCA to offer Spring Break Camp for the upcoming spring intersession.

The camps will be held Monday through Thursday, March 21-24 and March 28-31, and are for all children in the 2nd through 6th grades. Programming for the camps include baseball/softball, flag football, frisbee golf, tennis/pickleball, soccer and volleyball.

Morning activities will be held at Greenwood County Parks and Recreation from 9 a.m. until noon with drop off beginning at 8 a.m. Lunch will be provided. The cost for the morning session is $10 per child, per week.

Afternoon sessions are from noon – 6 p.m. and will be held at the Greenwood YMCA. Transportation for afternoon participants from the park to the YMCA will be provided. The cost for the afternoon session is $40 per child, per week.

“We are excited to partner with the Greenwood YMCA to offer this program to our community,” Brad Cuttill, director of Greenwood County Parks and Recreation, said. “This partnership is a great example of how communities can work together to support our county’s children, their parents and our schools.”

“The Greenwood YMCA has always been committed to providing our community with services to meet their needs, and these sports camps do just that” Sondi Creglow, director of operations, Greenwood YMCA, said. “We are able to provide the children with fun, engaging activities and provide their parents with peace of mind knowing their child will be taken care of during the intercession.”
