Februart 2, 2024 is Groundhog Day.

Since February 2, 1887, when a groundhog (also known as woodchuck and whistlepig) was used to predict the weather, at least 18 additional animals have become unwitting meteorologists.  How accurate are these predictions? Well according to LiveScience.com, “Data from the Stormfax Almanac’s data shows that Punxsutawney Phil’s six-week prognostications have been correct about 39% of the time.”
