Greenwood Police Detectives Continue to Investigate Weekend Shooting
As we reported on Saturday, an early morning shooting near the corner of Olin Street and Main Street South left one man in critical condition. Detectives have worked extensively over the past two days to piece this incident together.
On Saturday, April 23, at approximately 3:15 am, several subjects were leaving the South Main Bar & Grill when a verbal altercation began in the parking lot of the Speedway Automotive Shop. Two groups of subjects began arguing back and forth, at which time the suspects approached the victim next to his parked vehicle, which was in the Pathway Resale Store parking lot. During the argument, weapons were pulled, and several shots were fired. The victim was struck in the abdomen; no other subjects were apparently injured. Another individual put the victim into a vehicle and drove him to the Emergency Care Center at Self Regional Healthcare.
Detectives have identified three individuals who were involved in the shooting. Thomias Keontae Jackson, 18, of Greenwood is wanted for Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime, and Keyland Ameer Elmore, 19, of Greenwood is wanted for Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime. Kelsey Demarcus Barr, 27, of Greenwood has been booked into the Greenwood County Detention Center on charges of Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime. His bond has been denied.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Jackson or Elmore are urged to contact the Greenwood Police Department immediately.
