Food Bank of Greenwood County Announces New Board Chair and Welcomes New Board Members

Greenwood, SC – March 18, 2025 – The Food Bank of Greenwood County is pleased to announce the appointment of Audra Irick as the new Chair of the Board of Directors, along with the addition of four new board members who will help guide the organization in its mission to fight hunger in theLakelands.
Audra brings extensive experience in leadership, nonprofitgovernance, strategic planning, and effective interpersonal skills to this role. Previously, Irick served as the Board’s secretary. She has been actively involved with the Food Bank of Greenwood County for five years and is committed to advancing initiatives that will expand food access and community support.
“I am honored to step into this role and work alongside such a dedicated team,” said Audra. “As food insecurity continues to impact so many in our community, we are focused on strengthening and expanding partnerships, increasing resources, and ensuring no one goes hungry.”
In addition to Irick, the following individuals have joined the Board of Directors:
• Floyd Nicholson, Retired State Senator, District 10
• Jillian S. Coleman, Realtor – Keller Williams Drive Realty
• Rick Faulks, Attorney – Rick Faulks Attorney at Law
• Jacob Shearer, Administrator- NHC Healthcare
“We are thrilled to welcome Audra and our new board members,” said Andrea White, Executive Director of the Food Bank of Greenwood County. “Their passion and expertise will be invaluable as we continue our mission to serve those in need.”
The Food Bank of Greenwood County serves 200 individuals and families each week, and the Soup Kitchen program provides nearly 30,000 hot meals annually. Since 1983, the Food Bank has been providing nutritious food and vital resources through partnerships with local organizations and volunteers. In 2023 the Greenwood Soup Kitchen became a program of the Food Bank of Greenwood County. Established in 1987, the Soup Kitchen, an all-volunteer team, has been essential in providing hot meals to the Greenwood community six days a week.
