Festival of Discovery News As you are likely aware, Greenwood City Council has approved a temporary measure during this week’s Festival of Discovery that allows individuals to possess and consume a beer and or wine on public streets and sidewalks of a defined area of Greenwood’s Main Street.
No coolers or BYOB. Beer and/or wine must be purchased from a properly licensed establishment located on Main Street. This year, those establishments are Uchi E (217 Waller Avenue), Buffalo Grill of Greenwood (327 Main Street), T W Boons (405 Main Street), Inn on the Square (104 E Court Avenue), Howards on Main (330 Main Street), Polo’s Restaurant (328 Main Street), Buenavista Cuban Café (322 Main Street) and Caffe312 (312 Main Street).
NEW for 2016. To possess a beer and/or wine from Thursday, July 7 – Saturday, July 9, an induvial must purchase and wear a $1 wrist band. Different colored wristbands will be sold for $1 each day, Thursday – Saturday, at the restaurants listed above. You must have a wristband to take the beer or wine outside and walk around in the Festival area. A wristband is not required to possess and consume beer and/or wine inside of a properly licensed establishment.
Revenue generated from the sale of wristbands will be used to offset festival expenses.
