On 12/19/2019 Dillon Scott Dobbins, 32 was arrested on a slew of charges consisting of attempted murder, attempted robbery while armed with a deadly weapon, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, trafficking methamphetamine, after a vehicle pursuit that occurred last night in Greenwood County.
Investigators along with other law enforcement agencies had been actively pursuing Dobbins since an incident which occurred on 12/09/2019 where a victim suffered a gunshot wound at 405 Marshall Circle in Greenwood County.
On 12/19/2019 Investigators learned that Dobbins was in Greenwood County and the description of the vehicle he was traveling in.
Shortly after the vehicle description was shared a Greenwood City Police Supervisor spotted the stolen vehicle and attempted to perform a traffic stop. The suspect vehicle refused to stop, and a vehicle pursuit ensued starting at New Market Ave. The vehicle pursuit continued to Highway 34 towards the Town of Ninety Six, SC. Officers with the Ninety Six Police Department were able to deploy spike strips near their city limits which the suspect vehicle struck. The suspect vehicle continued through the town of Ninety Six before coming to a stop near Eddy Road and Highway 34. Dobbins then attempted to flee on foot but was caught by officers after a short foot pursuit.
Dobbins was NOT the driver of the suspect vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, Elizabeth Hunter Chronic, 22 was also arrested for Misprision of a Felony and Accessory after the
Fact of a Felony. Another passenger in the vehicle an Ashley Nichole Barnett was also
arrested for Misprision of a Felony and Accessory after the Fact of a Felony as well.
Dobbins is facing the following charges:
1 Count of Attempted Murder
1 Count of Attempted Armed Robbery
1 Count of Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Violent Crime 1 Count of Trafficking Methamphetamine
Greenwood County Sheriff Dennis Kelly said his Deputies, the Greenwood Police Department and Ninety Six Police Department did an excellent job at getting a dangerous person off of the streets of Greenwood County.
