District 50: Youth Apprenticeships- Students Recognized for Participating in the Youth Apprenticeship Program
Students from the G. Frank Russell Technology Center had the opportunity to obtain work experience first hand by participating in the Youth Apprenticeship Program. Business and industry partners were Ballentine Toyota, Capsugel, Eaton Power Systems, Emerald Technical Services, Greenwood Genetic Center, Greenwood Mills, Optimum Life Center, Performance Plus Automotive, Rounds Enterprises, Superior Automotive, and VELUX-Greenwood, Inc. Each of the students and their mentors were recognized at an awards ceremony. Front row left to right are Amber Ashley, Mari Nelson, Rachel Bates, Michaela Smith, and Cynthia Zosa. Outstanding Youth Apprenticeship Student of the year went to Myles Williams and Matthew Burke. Myles work experience was at the Optimum Life Center and Matthew worked at Capsugel. Lynsey Dove, of Eaton Power Systems was named Mentor of the Year.
