COUNTYBANK ADDS NEW BOARD MEMBER David C. King Joins Countybank Board of Directors
Greenwood, S.C. – Countybank is proud to welcome David C. King to the Countybank Board of Directors effective April 18, 2018. His responsibilities in joining the Board of Directors include directing the overall affairs of Countybank, establishing strategic direction, and setting policy.
David King is a seventh generation Anderson native who recently retired as Executive Director of The Abney Foundation. He is also locally well-known for his distinguished 32-year banking career and his coownership of Sullivan-King Mortuary, which has been owned and operated by his family since 1923.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, King is actively engaged in civic and community service. He is a decorated United States Army Veteran and has held a number of influential roles in the community including board leadership with Innovate Anderson, Anderson University Board of Visitors, AnMed Health Board of Trustees, South Carolina Bankers Association, Anderson County Arts Council, and United Way’s LeadershipNEXT. He was named United Way’s Communitarian of the Year in 2016 and one of Anderson’s 15 Over 50 honorees in 2017. David additionally served as a volunteer helicopter pilot with the Anderson County Sherriff’s Foundation.

King completed his Bachelor’s degree at Auburn University and later graduated from Louisiana State University School of Banking. He is a member of NewSpring Church where he serves on the Senior Leadership Team. He is a native of Anderson, SC where he resides with his wife Sheila.
