COUNTYBANK AND GREENWOOD CAPTIAL PLEDGE ALMOST $27,000 FOR UNITED WAY

COUNTYBANK AND GREENWOOD CAPTIAL PLEDGE ALMOST $27,000 FOR UNITED WAY
Greenwood, S.C. —Countybank and Greenwood Capital donated $26,936 as part of their annual Pacesetter Campaign to the United Way of Greenwood and Abbeville Counties. Associates from both organizations made personal pledge donations totaling $16,936 as part of the employee campaign, while the Countybank Foundation provided an additional campaign contribution of $10,000.
“Our team is grateful for the trusted relationship we built over the past 40 years with Countybank and Greenwood Capital and for their continuous support through associate giving opportunities like the Pacesetter Campaign,” said Marisel Losa, President and CEO of United Way of Greenwood and Abbeville Counties. “2020 has been a challenging year for us because of the pandemic, which makes financial support from organizations like Countybank and Greenwood Capital even more important.”
Countybank and Greenwood Capital hold an annual Pacesetter Campaign to support local services and programs focusing on education, financial stability, health, and basic needs throughout Greenwood and Abbeville counties. Countybank has also historically supported United Way through many volunteer opportunities, including a monthly “Casual for a Cause” fundraiser, annual participation in United Way’s Day of Action, volunteering for the Stuff the Bus program, and donating school supplies.
“Partnering with United Way allows us to give back to our community,” said David Tompkins, Senior Vice President, Greenwood Market Executive of Countybank. “We recognize the importance of supporting United Way this year in their efforts to make the Upstate a better place to live.”
“I have the honor of working with both Greenwood Capital and the United Way of Greenwood and Abbeville counties,” said John Cooper, Private Client Advisor for Greenwood Capital who also serves on the United Way of Greenwood and Abbeville Counties Executive Committee. “I am proud to say both organizations share the same deep-seated commitment to making our communities a better place to live and work. I’m proud of their joint efforts and look forward to many years of successful collaboration.”
The United Way of Greenwood and Abbeville Counties serves its respective communities and fundraises through employee campaigns, grant funding, and corporate and private donations. It provides struggling families with financial assistance and support programs that address food insecurity, childhood literacy and healthcare access.
