CodeRED All-Call to occur May 4 in Greenwood County
Greenwood, S.C. – On Wednesday, May 4 at 10 a.m. Greenwood County residents and business owners registered for the CodeRED Emergency Alert System will receive an all-call. During the all-call, an automated message will encourage residents to sign up for severe weather notifications and other critical information alerts.
CodeRED is used by Greenwood County Emergency Management to inform residents of immediate threats to health and safety. When you sign up to receive emergency alerts, you will be notified when an emergency is happening in your area.
“We encourage all Greenwood residents and businesses to register for CodeRED,” Jamie Parrish, Emergency Management coordinator, said. “This free service is only used for communicating emergency situations to keep people safe and informed. Alerts can be sent to notify users of events like severe weather, missing persons and boil water advisories. I hope that everyone will register for this free and important service.”
When an emergency is occurring near the physical address of the resident’s home or business that is listed in the CodeRED system, those registered are notified by either a phone call, text message or email – depending on which options are chosen when registering.
To register, visit www.greenwoodsc.gov and click on the CodeRED logo located at the top of the web page or text AlertGreenwoodSC to 99411.
