Arrest In Connection With June 12 Shooting
On June 18th the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office arrested Mon’Drikus Raphael Griffin (17) of Greenville, SC in connection with the June 12th shooting that took the life of KasiaSimmons on Wilson Creek Rd in Greenwood. The investigation revealed that the victim and Griffin were acquaintances and were traveling together in the victim’s vehicle prior to the shooting. While on Wilson Creek Rd the two juveniles were let out of the vehicle and the victim was shot by Griffin before he fled in the victim’s vehicle.
The stolen vehicle was recovered by Investigators the following day in Greenwood, hidden behind a residence. Griffin is currently being held at the Greenwood County Detention Center where he is charged as an adult with Murder, Carjacking, and Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime.
