The Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office said three teenage males were arrested last night and are being charged with multiple counts of armed robbery after four separate incidents inside of Greenwood County since 12/23/2019.

The first of the four armed robberies occurred on 12/23/2019 and happened around 11:30 p.m. on Short Leaf Court in Greenwood. A delivery driver from a local restaurant was robbed at gun point by four suspects who fled the scene on foot. The suspects stole the food, cash and personal property belonging to the driver. A search for the suspects was unfounded and Investigators were called to the scene.

On the 12/24/2019 at 11:00 p.m. the very next night, GCSO received a report of another armed robbery by four suspects matching the same description. This robbery was at the same location but a different delivery driver from another local restaurant. Again the suspects reportedly fled the scene on foot. The suspects again stole the food, cash and personal property belonging to the driver. The Bloodhound Tracking Team was called to the scene and again the search for the suspects was unsuccessful and Investigators were called to the scene to gather evidence and continue the investigation.

On 01/02/2020 at 12:55 a.m. GCSO received yet another report of another armed robbery by four suspects matching the same description. This robbery occurred at West Brook Apartments not far from the previous two robberies.

Finally on 01/02/2020 at 11:25 p.m. GCSO received yet another report of another armed robbery by four suspects matching the same description. This robbery occurred at West Brook Apartments as well not far from the previous night’s robbery. Again the suspects reportedly fled the scene on foot. The suspects again stole the food, cash and personal property belonging to the driver.

Our Uniform Patrol Deputies armed with information gathered from the previous robberies were able to capture one of the suspects near the scene, still in possession of some of the stolen property. Their efforts along with good old fashioned police work led the Deputies to a nearby apartment. At the apartment Deputies found two other suspects responsible for the armed robberies along with copious amounts of evidence connecting them to the crimes.

All three suspects are charged with multiple counts of armed robbery. Investigators report more charges and arrests to come depending on the outcome of the investigation.
“Thankfully no one was injured as a result of these senseless crimes” said Sheriff Dennis Kelly. “I am proud of the Uniform Patrol Deputies efforts in taking these dangerous individuals off the street”.
