obituary

Chesney Ethelene Williams, 28, of Ninety Six, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at MUSC.

Chesney, a beloved daughter, granddaughter, and girlfriend, was born on September 20, 1995, in Columbia, SC, to her father, Jerry Lee Roberts and mother, Renee Williams. She lived a life filled with love and devotion to her faith and was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Chesney’s heart was as beautiful as her soul – she loved to spread joy and embrace everyone she met with her warm and generous hugs. She had a special bond with animals, especially her fur babies, Tiger, Peaches, Oreo, Sophie, Bo and Maverick, who brought immense happiness to her life. Known for her vibrant personality and infectious laughter, Chesney had a unique sense of humor that could brighten any room. Resilient and selfless, she always put others before herself, radiating compassion and kindness. Chesney was a natural tomboy with a newfound love for fishing and embraced her adventurous side as she grew older. She especially adored spending time at the beach, finding peace and tranquility by the ocean’s shore. Chesney was a recipient of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with her.

Throughout Chesney’s journey she continued to fight every step of the way even down to her last breath, SHE FOUGHT!

She was preceded in death by grandparents, Billy Williams, Jerry Lee Roberts, Sr and Ruth W. Roberts.

Surviving in addition to her parents are her; grandmother, Ethelene Williams; boyfriend, Austin Willingham; aunts, Sonia Olson and Deborah O’Sullivan; uncles, Jeff Roberts, James Roberts and Jack Roberts; cousin, Pam Canfield and Molly Olson; and special family friend, Mike Isbell.

Services will be held at 1pm on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kelvin Hinson officiating.  Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mike Isbell, Chris Ashley, James Roberts, Jack Roberts, Paul Bagnoli and Frankie Coates.

Honorary escort will be the Pic n Sav employees and members of Greenwood Fire Service.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 5-7pm.
