Donald Lemond Crocker, 90, former resident of Avondale, husband of Augustine Brown Crocker, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2024 at Emerald Gardens.
Born January 13, 1934, in Union, SC, he was the son of the late Clarence and Lois Marie O’ Shields Crocker. He was a US Army Veteran, Korean Conflict, and retired from Greenwood Mills Plant #4. Mr. Crocker loved camping and spending time with his family and friends.
He was a member of Westside Baptist Church where he was an RA Leader, Deacon, and Sunday School teacher for the Joy and Praise class. Mr. Crocker also a member of the American Legion Post #20, Saluda Valley Sam’s Camping Club and a former cub scout leader.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Steve (Debby) Crocker of Easley and Richard (Mary Ella) Crocker of Greenwood; four grandchildren, Lindsay (Chet) Lesley, Ashley (David) Rocklein, Sharon (Tyler) Harrell and Seth (Mariel) Crocker; step-grandsons, Ryan (Tabatha) Evans, Rusty (Tabitha) Evans, Marc Rhodes; great-grandchildren, Emily (Leighton) Griggs, Lauren Lesley, Macy Rocklein and Sammiel Crocker; step-great-grandchildren, Amber Owens, Gabe, Jacob, Tristen and T.J. Evans, and Bells and Cam Moseley; and step-great-great-grandchildren, Anna Faye, Greyson, Isla, Dayton Evans and Hazel Owens.
Mr. Crocker was predeceased by one son, Bruce Emerson Crocker; his brother, Ted Crocker; and his sister, Norma Dean Sanders.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kyle Richter officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2 Thursday afternoon.
