Jerry Kenneth Ashley, 74, of Greenwood, husband of Sarah Jean Panther Ashley, passed away Friday, January 12, 2024, at Self Regional Healthcare.
Born in Greenwood, he was the son of the late Carl and Laurene Hix Ashley. Jerry worked with Moore Business Forms for over 35 years. Outside of his professional life, Jerry found joy in pursuing his favorite hobbies. He had a true love for fishing, spending countless hours in nature, casting his line and enjoying the peaceful serenity that the water offered. As a talented woodworker, he found immense satisfaction in creating beautiful furniture pieces for his family with his own hands. His craftsmanship and attention to detail were evident in every piece he crafted. He was an avid Gamecock fan and above all, Jerry treasured his family and cherished the time he spent with them. He never met a stranger and was known for always making jokes.
Surviving in addition to his beloved wife of the home are his children, Vicky McDonald (Dennis), Susan Haynie (Chip), Trevor Ashley (Erin) and Angela Ashley; grandchildren, Tori McDonald (Dillon Steifle), Ryan McDonald (Haylie Ritter), Cera Traynham (Jonathan), Logan Haynie (Ashley Miller), Adriene Johnson, Joseph Johnson, Blakely Ashley, Macy Ashley, Sadey Ashley, Thomas Ashley and Magnolia Ashley; special friends, Ronnie Davenport and Wallace Perry; and his beloved dogs, Jake and Athena.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Monday, January 15, 2024, at Harley Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home before the service from 1-2pm.
Family members are at their respective homes.
