Nina June Davis Trotman, 84, died peacefully Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Oakmont at Gordon Park in Bristol Virginia.
Born June 3, 1939, in Greenwood County, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Page and Lena Cogburn Davis. June was a graduate of Greenwood High School and a retired Credit Union loan officer.
June had been an active member of her beloved Tranquil Methodist Church.
Despite her uncanny ability to rattle off a thousand reasons to not do something she was not without adventure or willingness to try new things from riding on the back of her son Mike’s motorcycle, taking up golf late in life, camping, exercising her artistry at cake decorating for fun (and profit), flower arranging, and spending time with her many friends and sorority sisters. She was a social butterfly who could light up a room, eager to engage in conversation with friends and strangers alike. She loved her family deeply and enjoyed the lighthearted banter with her two boys, always ending with a laugh, a quip of “you two think you’re so smart” and “you’ll miss me when I’m gone”. On the latter she was certainly right; Mom, we miss you terribly.
Surviving are two sons, Steve (Debbie) Trotman of Abingdon, Virginia, and Mike (Sharon) Trotman of Isle of Palms, South Carolina; one sister Ann (Sonny) Tharpe and one brother Bubba (Cindy) Davis all of Greenwood; four grandchildren, Ryan Trotman, Lauren (Tim) Kilbourne, Erin (Kyle) Wiltse and Emily (Mike) Cornwell; and three great-grandchildren.
June was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, the late Wilfred “Bud” Trotman and an infant son, William Robert Trotman, and sister Bobbie Jean Traynham.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Luke Mims officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11- 12 Saturday morning.
June and Buddy were clients of mine. I always liked meeting with them because they reminded me of my parents. Really good people that were fun to be with.
