Lisa Britt, who holds a Bachelor of Arts from Lander, serves as the senior vice president and chief human resources officer of Thermo Fisher Scientific, an American supplier of analytical instruments, life sciences solutions, specialty diagnostics, laboratory, pharmaceutical and biotechnology services. Since joining ThermoFisher in 2017, the company has grown from 54,000 employees to a global workforce of over 130,000, and revenues have grown from $18 billion to $44 billion. Britt is committed to the advancement of the company’s mission “to enable customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer.”

Prior to Thermo Fisher, Britt spent six years with Nexeo Solutions, a Texas-based global leader in the distribution of plastics and chemicals, where she served as Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. She also served in a number of senior HR leadership roles at Covidien, a global leader in medical devices and health care products.

Britt has been publicly recognized by both business and professional associations alike. She was recently named the winner of the Human Resources Leadership Forum’s HR Leadership Award, and was named one of the Top 100 Women in Business by the National Women’s Conference. Britt also serves on the business advisory council for the Health Action Alliance, helping to support small employers with health crisis situations, and previously served on the board of Economic Development Partnership in The Woodlands, Texas.

Revis Butler, who earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from Lander, is currently serving as web content editor and national music columnist for Sheen Magazine, an internationally distributed publication providing the latest up-to-date news and current trends in beauty, fashion, hair and entertainment. Residing in his hometown of Greenville, he is also the president of the Urban League of Upstate Young Professionals, where he dedicates his time to giving back to his community to ensure that everyone is given an equal opportunity to be as successful in life, regardless of background or ethnicity.

Colleagues describe Butler as a charismatic leader, who displays deep reverence for his hometown by helping to advance spaces of equity. He regularly pursues ambitious professional development opportunities and chances to collaborate with other community leaders. In addition to his Lander education, he has also earned a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt and Green Belt from Greenville Technical College, and is a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

Robyn Hoffman, vice president for University Advancement and executive director of The Lander Foundation, congratulated Britt and Butler for having been nominated and selected as this year’s award recipients, and extended an invitation to the Lander family to join them for the Alumni Awards Dinner on Feb. 10 at 5:30 p.m. in the Abney Cultural Center.

“These two alumni are excellent ambassadors of Lander University and demonstrate the opportunities for personal and professional growth that a Lander education makes possible,” said Hoffman. “We look forward to welcoming Lisa and Rev back to Lander and celebrating their achievements during our Homecoming and Alumni Weekend festivities.”
