COUNTYBANK FOUNDATION DONATES $25K TO HOSPICE & PALLIATIVE CARE OF THE PIEDMONT

Greenwood, S.C. — Countybank and Greenwood Capital recently presented a check for $25,000 to Hospice & Palliative Care of the Piedmont. The donation was given on behalf of the Countybank Foundation, which was established in 1971 and represents Countybank and Greenwood Capital.
This donation will go toward the organization’s Project Hope program, which provides grief support for children through individual counseling, school programs, a grief library, and a summer grief camp. Support is offered for children ages 6 to 15 in the Lakelands region and are not required to have lost a loved one served by Hospice.
“Hospice & Palliative Care of the Piedmont provides an invaluable service to families and children in need in our community through the Project Hope program,” said David Tompkins, Greenwood Market Executive for Countybank. “We are honored to be able to financially support this program and offset the cost of providing these services, which ensure families don’t have to incur additional costs during a difficult time in their lives.”
Hospice & Palliative Care of the Piedmont is the Lakelands’ community non-profit network of care that provides expert, life-changing health care for those living with advanced illnesses. They offer inpatient hospice care, in-home hospice care, palliative care, and bereavement services. The Project Hope program was established many years ago with a small grant from the Self Family Foundation.
“When children lose someone they care about, it affects their entire life, their nutrition, their sleep, their relationships, their behavior, and their schoolwork,” said Charlene Kish, CEO of Hospice & Palliative Care of the Piedmont. “With financial support from organizations like Countybank and Greenwood Capital, we are able to provide education and support to both the child and the parents.”
“Navigating loss is challenging, and the work that Project Hope does to support grieving children is critical,” said John Wiseman, Director of Fixed Income for Greenwood Capital. “We appreciate the work that Hospice & Palliative Care of the Piedmont does for children and their families in our community.”
