District 50 Hires Director of Transportation

Greenwood School District 50 is proud to announce the hiring of Mr. Michael White as the district’s new Director of Transportation. 

 

White received a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Development from the University of Clemson and was a Cum Laude graduate. He is a highly motivated professional with extensive skills and experience in program management, industrial safety, bus maintenance/operations, and CDL training.

 

Currently, White serves as a Program Manager for Industrial and Safety/CDL Training Programs at Piedmont Technical College. As Program Manager, White manages safety and CDL programs which include training and testing students. He also works closely with various industries and local DMV offices in our service area. In 2017-2018, White worked as a Transit Operations Manager for Clemson University Parking and Transportation Services. Prior to working at Clemson, White served as a Program Manager for School Bus Maintenance Operations in Laurens and Newberry. 

 

“I am excited to be leading a department with such an outstanding track record,” White stated. “I look forward to working with all of the bus drivers as we provide safe and reliable transportation to and from school for our students.”

 

“Mr. White brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the job,” Superintendent Steve Glenn stated. “He has a proven track record of being a highly qualified professional with exceptional organizational and coordinating abilities. His years of experience, skills, and knowledge will prove to be an asset to District 50’s transportation department.”

 

Assistant Superintendent for Administration Christi Louden stated, “Mr. White  has proven to be successful in a variety of positions over his career. He  is passionate about providing safe transportation to all District 50 students.”
