GREENWOOD, S.C. –A Reading  Featuring Janisse Ray  at Lander University

The University Department of English & Foreign Languages is pleased to announce that award-winning writer Janisse Ray is visiting Lander’s campus on April 6- 7, 2022. She will be reading from her work the evening of April 6, an event which will be free and open to the public, as well as providing writing workshops for Lander University’sstudents.

 

In her writing, Janisse Ray “explores the borderland of nature and culture.She first came into prominence with her New York Times notable memoir, Ecology of a Cracker Childhood. Most recently, she has written Wild Spectacle, in which she describes her journeys to many remote places around the world and explores our first home, the wild earth, and invites us to question its known and unknown beauties and curiosities.” Ray makes her home in rural Georgia.  

 

A Reading and Conversation featuring Janisse Ray will take place on April 6, 2022 from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in room 250, Josephine B. Abney Cultural Center, at Lander University. This event is free and open to the community.
