Green Wood Chuck joins Score of Weather Predicting Animals

Since Feb. 2, 1887, when a groundhog (aka woodchuck aka whistlepig) was used to predict the weather, 19 additional animals have become unwitting meteorologists. Green Wood Chuck predicts a short winter. This is based on the scientific principal that he really, really, wants warmer weather.
