Greenwood, SC (November 21, 2019) – In 2015, Countybank and Greenwood Capital pledged a five-year gift of $100,000 to the Greenwood Genetic Center (GGC) Foundation in honor of the Center’s employees. In November, Countybank and Greenwood Capital representatives delivered the final $20,000 installment of this gift.

“The Countybank Foundation supports organizations in the Upstate of South Carolina that are involved in important work and are also vital citizens of their community,” said Countybank Senior Vice President and Greenwood Market Executive, David Tompkins. “We have been honored each year to support this mission and recognize the commitment of GGC’s team for all they do for Greenwood and for their patients across the state and around the world.”

“We are very grateful to Countybank and Greenwood Capital for supporting our mission so we can continue to provide the highest quality genetics services for patients, as well as advance research for the benefit of families worldwide,” said GGC Director, Steve Skinner, MD. “We do have the most compassionate, dedicated employees on our team who work hard every day for the benefit of our patients. It is very fitting that this gift be dedicated to their tireless efforts.”

“The work being done by GGC is changing lives for those impacted by genetic disorders,” said Walter Todd, III, President and CIO of Greenwood Capital. “We are pleased to be able to share in their mission and contribute to the great work of this organization.”

The GGC Foundation is a nonprofit 501©3 established to serve as the philanthropic arm supporting the Greenwood Genetic Center in its work of serving families in the fight against genetic diseases, birth defects, and autism.
