Greenwood Police: Shooting Update, Arrest Made
GREENWOOD POLICE MAKE ARREST IN RECENT SHOOTING
Greenwood, SC – Officers have made an arrest in connection with a shooting incident which occurred during the early morning hours of July 2, 2019.
At approximately 1:10 am on July 2nd, officers responded to a residence on Chipley Avenue where two women advised they believed they had been shot. Both women had what appeared to be flesh wounds to the leg and they were treated for their injuries. Through investigation and the cooperation of some witnesses, investigators were able to positively identify the suspect. The suspect learned that he was wanted by authorities and surrendered to investigators this afternoon.
Joey Corvell Reid, 35, of Greenwood, SC was charged with Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime. He will have his bond set on Thursday, July 11th.
