Starting today Greenwood Calendar will award a worthy recipient with the weekly GGEA Award,  That’s the Greenwood’s Greatest Emerald Award,  to someone who helps make Greenwood Great! This inaugural award goes to Greenwood’s City Manager Charlie Barrineau, not for all he does as city manager – that’s his job, but for something above and beyond. I have had the opportunity to work with Charlie from time to time…  And without fail whenever we walk together Charlie stops to pick up trash behind others. This he does because he loves Greenwood.

Congratulations Charlie Barrineau for helping make Greenwood Great!
