Greenwood Covid Vaccination Information

A quick update about Greenwood Covid Vaccination Information.

 

First, There are 4 phases for the distribution of COVID-19 Vaccine.  Within these phases different entities are listed as priorities for that phase.  Please see the link below for SCDHEC’s phases.

 

 

We are currently in phase 1a with a caveat.  On Tuesday, the Governor moved all individuals aged 70 and over into 1a.  This greatly expanded the number of individuals needing to be vaccinated (628,000 at the state level and 46,000 at the local level).  Doing this has postponed the start of Phase 1b.  

 

As you can tell this is a very fluid situation and changes will occur rapidly.  As I receive new information, I will include it in my daily updates and I will also have a new vaccine page started on our Greenwood County Website.

 

One such update which was announced by Self Regional late yesterday is starting Thursday, individuals who meet the criteria for Phase 1a, may call 864-725-3555 and register to receive the vaccine.  The criteria are as follows; healthcare provider, government first responders who provide healthcare related services and individuals 70 and over.

 

Please remember the only constant in the universe is change.  So be prepared
