Woods in Your Backyard

The Woods in Your Backyard program is designed for landowners who own 10 acres or
less, and for the professionals who provide management assistance. Participants will
learn simple stewardship practices to maintain and improve small woodlots, including:
• Ecological Principles
• Tree Planting
• Invasive Plant Control
• Converting Lawn to Natural Areas
• Managing for Wildlife in the Landscape
• Use of Woodland Health Assessment Guide
• Natural Use Areas
• Woods and Water
• Woodlot Management Techniques
