Uptown Live Presents Terrance Simien and the Zydeco Experience

One of zydeco’s most soulful vocalists and fieriest accordionists, Terrance Simien was also among the music’s most pop-oriented artists, infusing his sound with elements of R&B, funk, gospel, and reggae. As Simien evolves to create a fusion of sound like no other, both critics and fans agree that he is taking his beloved zydeco music to a new level and into a larger music world, the celebrating circles of American roots music. He continues to raise the standards for his genre by establishing himself as a formidable songwriter and an absolutely  astonishing singer, who evokes comparisons to Sam Cooke and Aaron Neville. Uptown Live is a free outdoor concert series in Uptown Greenwood, SC. Concerts take place in the Countybank Plaza on Main Street, unless otherwise noted. Food is available from vendors, as well as from nearby restaurants. Adult beverages are available in restricted areas. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets.
