Relay for Life Leader and Volunteer Interest Meeting

August 15, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Relay for life

Relay For Life of Greenwood County is seeking new leaders, teams, old friends, volunteers and sponsors as we start our 2017 season on September 1st. Many of you have participated as committee members, team captains, team members and sponsors in the past. As we move toward our 23rd. anniversary, we would like for you to come back and see how much your efforts have contributed to the success of Relay in Greenwood County.

If you have never taken part in Relay, this would be a great time for you, your family or church to be part of an event that Celebrates life, Remembers those lost to cancer and to Fight Back by raising funds and awareness in the fight against cancer in your community.

Businesses and corporations, Relay For Life provides an opportunity to play a distinguished role as a community leader, by showing support to those employees and their families facing cancer and giving all employees a fun and creative way to work as a team for a common cause.

We invite you to join us on Monday, August 15th to learn more. Come out and see what is new. We will be at the Associated Reformed Presbyterian Church located at 1635 Cokebury Rd from 6 to 7 pm. Refreshments will be served and information will be shared about Relay For Life and our mission opportunities.

Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature event and the single, largest non-profit fundraising event in the world.  It is a community-developed, volunteer-driven, team event to fight back against cancer.  Relay For Life also offers a unique opportunity to bring cancer survivors and caregivers together for the purpose of honoring the hope they symbolize and remember those who have lost the battle.  Cancer affects everyone, and because two-thirds of cancer deaths are preventable, it is essential that we build awareness within our community and around the world.  Relay For Life is just that building block, but only if you are there to put it to use.

Please contact Hoyt C. Dorn, Senior Community Manager RFL for Greenwood and surrounding counties at (864) 871-4210 or email hdorn@cancer.org. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer for the American Cancer Society.
