Uptown Market

August 7-13, 2016 is National Farmers Market Week.

There are well over 8,200 markets operating across the United States.   On Wednesday, August 10th at 10 AM at the Uptown 28138018832_03df947707Market.  USDA Agricultural Marketing Services (https://www.ams.usda.gov) Director Elanor Starmer and her staff have chosen USDAGreenwood’s Uptown Market as one of the markets they will visit.   Administrator Starmer will be making brief comments on USDA’s work to support local food and their assistance with our market design through the Market and Facility Design service of USDA AMS.

You can learn more about Administrator Starmer here – http://www.usda.gov/wps/portal/usda/usdahome?contentidonly=true&contentid=bio-starmer.xml.

The Uptown Market will be open 10 AM – 2 PM.  In addition to the GREAT fresh and local vendors, we expect music by Ashby Stokes and Jake Bartley, healthy recipe samples from Self Regional Healthcare, and face painting by The Arts Center.  Also, special guest artist demonstrations.
