Lander, Knights of Columbus partner for Youth Free Throw Championship
All boys and girls, ages 9-14, are invited to participate in the local level competition of the 2018-19 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship. The local competition will be held on December 1, 2018. Registration and competition are between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at the Greenwood, S.C., Family YMCA. Members and non-members of the YMCA may participate.
The Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship is sponsored annually, with winners having the choice to progress to district, and jurisdictional competitions. All boys and girls ages 9 to 14 are eligible to participate and will compete in their respective age divisions. Participants will receive a free family passes to both the Lander University women’s and men’s basketball games on January 5, 2019, at 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. in Finis Horne Arena. Winners of each gender and age group will be recognized at halftime of the Lander men’s basketball game on January 5, 2019, and presented on the court with a basketball and championship certificate.
Participants are required to furnish proof of age and/or signed approval from their parent or guardian for the competitor to participate. Entry forms are available in advance at the Greenwood Family YMCA or contact Richard Senatore at email@example.com. The Knights of Columbus will also have a registration table at each Lander basketball game prior to the December 1 competition.
