FIGURATIVELY SPEAKING | Black History Exhibition

February 8 @ 8:00 am - February 24 @ 5:00 pm

Free

Figuratively Speaking highlights three emerging artists of color who are using their creative voice to contribute to ongoing conversations of race and representation in contemporary art. The twenty-one-featured works reveal figurative depictions of quiet moments, adolescence, thoughtfulness, heritage and historical influence. Through a variety of mixed media, each artist gives insight to complexities in current culture by creating individual narratives. The featured artists include Anthony Patterson (Durham, NC), Jarbari Jefferson (Washington, DC) and Lamar Whidbee (Durham, NC).
