Chamber Features Local Residency Program at Next Morning Blend

Dr. Rob Tiller, Director of the Self Regional Healthcare Family Medicine Residency Program, will be the featured guest speaker at the Thursday, May 14th Morning Blend program presented by Ameriprise Financial and the Greenwood Chamber.

The Self Regional Healthcare Family Medicine Residency program has trained resident physicians in the specialty of family medicine for over 30 years.  Resident physicians choose the program based on its excellent reputation and the opportunity to train in a very supportive hospital that affords resident physicians quality clinical experiences.

The program is affiliated with MUSC through AHEC and also serves as a clinical training site for medical students from MUSC. The program has ten resident physicians in each training year for a total of 30 resident physicians.  The program receives over 800 applications each year for the ten available positions.

“This program is one of the hidden gems in our community and we’re delighted to promote its success to our membership.  Greenwood is very fortunate to have such a strong residency program that continually attracts top physicians to the area,” said David Tompkins of Countybank, 2015 Chairman of the Greenwood Chamber.

Dr. Rob Tiller holds a bachelor of science in chemical engineering and received his medical degree at the Indiana University School of Medicine.  He is board certified in Family Medicine as well as Hospice and Palliative Care Medicine.  He and his wife Julie, a graduate of Purdue University, are both Indiana natives but have enjoyed living in Greenwood for the past 21 years.

The Morning Blend program is designed to increase information sharing and networking within the business community by offering busy professionals the opportunity to connect with each other and receive timely updates from city, county, and chamber officials.

The breakfast event will be held at the American Legion, with registration opening at 7:45 a.m.   The program will commence at 8:15 a.m. and last until 9:30 a.m. The cost is $15 for Chamber members and $20 for non-members. To register, contact Fiely Novilla at (864) 223-8431, ext. 234 or by email at Fiely@GreenwoodSCchamber.org.
