District 52 Names David Schoolfield as New Assistant Superintendent of Instruction
Greenwood School District 52 will have a new face as Assistant Superintendent of Instruction next school year.
David Schoolfield, Principal of Edgewood Middle School, has been named as the new Assistant Superintendent of Instruction
“I am excited about this new opportunity in my professional career,” Schoofield stated. “As Edgewood’s principal, it was exciting to witness our school and district excel in academics and achievement. Our district has developed an outstanding reputation statewide of making a difference in the lives of our students. I look forward to working with our administrators, teachers, and staff as we help all children reach their full potential and become college and career ready.”
Schoolfield has served as the Principal at Edgewood Middle School for the last 7 years. During his 23 years in public education, Schoolfield has worked as a math teacher, mentor teacher, assistant principal, and principal. Prior to working in District 52, Schoolfield served as Assistant Principal at Bryson Middle School and Principal at McCormick Middle School. Schoolfield obtained his Bachelor Degree from Presbyterian College and his Master of Education Degree in Administration Supervision from Grand Canyon University.
Superintendent Dr. Beth Taylor said, “It was clear during our hiring process that Mr. Schoolfield is an innovative educator and leader with a proven track record of achieving success in our school district. His leadership will assist our district in continuing our tradition of excellence in student achievement. I look forward to working with him and our Ninety Six T.E.A.M. as we continue to make a positive impact in our schools and community.”
In July, Schoofield will replace current Assistant Superintendent of Instruction Dr. Paul Spadaro who recently accepted an offer to become a Superintendent in a New York school district.
