COUNTYBANK SUPPORTS ANDERSON SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT Gift Made in Memory of Kip Burrell to Support Search and Rescue Equipment

ANDERSON, S.C. – Countybank reinforced its reputation for philanthropy in the communities where its team live and work today with a donation to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Department to support search and rescue equipment purchases. In an intimate dedication ceremony on December 27th, 2017, a check was presented in memory of the late Kip Burrell.

“On behalf of the Countybank family, we want to commend the incredible efforts of the Anderson County Sheriff’s Department,” says Ken Harper, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Countybank. “The work this department does beyond the call of duty was huge for the Burrell family, and we know those efforts continue daily in our community.”

Countybank’s gift to the Sheriff’s Department will support the purchase of necessary search and rescue equipment for Anderson County emergency services. The department has been involved in numerous life- saving efforts this year.

“I am forever grateful for the support the department showed my family through the nine and a half weeks of search and rescue efforts, and for the compassion they’ve continued to show us over the last five months,” shared Stacey Burrell, wife of the late Mr. Burrell. “You never made us feel like we were unimportant. We are so proud to be part of the Anderson community.”

“We gladly accept this generous gift from Countybank to support our search and rescue efforts,” said Sheriff Chad McBride. “Our department intends to continue advancing its equipment and training to better serve the citizens of Anderson, because our community deserves the best we can provide.”

Attendees of the dedication ceremony included Ken Harper, Stacey Burrell, and Shannon Lusk of Countybank; Sheriff Chad McBride, Emergency Management Director Lt. David Baker, Support & Special Operations Captain Darrell Hill, and other representatives from the Sheriff’s Department and Emergency Services.
