The Gift of Music Project

“The Gift of Music Project,” in conjunction with Lander University and Greenwood Calendar, will be shooting a video in the next three weeks featuring local musicians. This effort was inspired by “Playing for Change” a multimedia movement created to inspire, connect, and bring peace to the world through music. See video example below of “What’s Going On.”
If you are interested in performing on the video, please contact Bobby Suit @ 864-379-0045 or Dr. Robert Stevenson @ gwdcal@gmail.com. Our song will be “Midnight Hour” All musicians, from country to rap and all styles in between, are encouraged to sign up and be a part of this memorable representation of our local artists.

Panera Bread: Share the Warmth

A little more information about Greenwood’s Panera Bread.

Here’s an email I received today:

Hi Dr. Robert,

I’ll be happy to share more information with Greenwood Calendar about our new Greenwood, South Carolina bakery-café as it becomes available. Although the exact address is still to be determined, this bakery-cafe will be located off Highway 72 in zip code 29649. It is scheduled to open in late July.

We want your visit to Panera Bread to be warm and relaxing with friendly service and deliciously handcrafted food you can enjoy and feel good about. I hope you’ll have an opportunity to visit us again soon and give us another chance to share the Panera warmth.

Sincerely,
Joey

Tribute song to the Lander Bearcats

A few years ago, some friend and I got together to pay tribute to the Lander Bearcats. Paul Crutcher, Chelsey Ashford, Chandler Puckett, Sam Thomas and I wanted to let the Bearcats know how much we supported them. So we wrote a song, practiced one afternoon, and performed it at Homecoming. We had a blast.

Now with the Lady Bearcats 15-3 and the Men 13-3, I think it’s time to resurrect our tribute.

Hope you like it. . .

Robert
