Breaking News: Coronaca Gas Station Assault; Suspect in Custody

Greenwood deputies responded to a stabbing altercation at the Coronaca One-Stop gas station on Highway 72  at 12:20 today according to John Long of the Greenwood Sheriff’s Department. Long stated that a man was found with cuts to the throat and face.

Officers viewed video tape surveillance of the parking lot at the gas station in front of Bilo’s Grocery Store near Lake Greenwood. It was determined that the victim was cut during an altercation. The suspect took the victim’s car and fled the scene.

Greenwood Sheriff’s department issued a BOLO or “Be On The Lookout” for the suspect. Laurens and Clinton officers responded quickly according to Long. The suspect was apprehended and is now in custody.

The victim was air-lifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital. The victim and suspect apparently had a working relationship.
