Cokesbury College to hold Ice Cream Social on June 9 during Festival of Flowers
The Cokesbury College Historical and Recreation Commission will hold its annual Ice Cream Social as part of the South Carolina Festival of Flowers from 2 – 4 p.m. Sunday, June 9, at the college, located at 210 College Road, Hodges.
Enjoy a pleasant Sunday afternoon of ice cream and tours of historic Cokesbury and see our new gazebo, a beautiful addition to the grounds and a lovely setting for an outdoor wedding!
Visitors will see all the recent restoration efforts, both inside and outside of the College building. Commissioners, acting as tour guides, will discuss plans for enhancing access to and community use of the College and grounds.
Built in 1854, Cokesbury College opened as one of the earliest Masonic Female Collegiate Institutes in the rural Southeast. The college building and grounds are listed on the National Register of Historic Places and are maintained and managed by the Cokesbury College Historical and Recreation Commission.
The event is free and open to the public.
