Uptown Detour – small price to pay for improvements
Beginning tomorrow Wednesday, August 27, Satterfield Construction of Greenwood will be installing a decorative concrete crosswalk on Maxwell Avenue (SC 10) in front of E S Moon’s Martial Arts (239 Maxwell Avenue). This is a component of the overall Uptown Market along Maxwell Avenue.
To allow for construction, Maxwell Avenue will be CLOSED TO TRAFFIC. . .
from Oregon Avenue to Edgefield Street beginning at approximately 7 AM in the morning until Monday morning September 1. No on-street parking in this area of Maxwell Avenue will be allowed during the crosswalk construction. A temporary detour route will be in place.
Once completed, the City will also install pedestrian crosswalk signage along Maxwell Avenue with the overall goal of improving pedestrian safety.
The City of Greenwood’s public parking lot across from E S Moon’s, The Mill House, Browns Furniture, Phillips Appliance and Greenwood Glass will remain open and accessible during the construction of the crosswalk.
