New Inmate Litter Pickup Program

From the Sheriff’s Office:

In our current budget(July1st 2014-June30th 2015), county council approved funding to hire another animal control/litter officer. That brings our number of animal control officers/litter officers to two. Litter control is a new duty that was added to the animal control job duties.  We hired the new animal control/ litter officer in September 2014. Now that he has been to the academy and is trained, we are ready to kick off our NEW inmate litter pickup program. We are using local inmates that are housed in our jail.  This Saturday morning starting @ 9am on Marshall road will be our first pick up.

This program was a personal project of the sheriff. In 2015 it is the sheriff’s intent to crack down of littering violations.

To be added to the waiting list we would like citizens to call Captain Dale Kittles 864-943-8057 or Lt. Sean Williams 864-942-8769.
